About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the overall operation of production on their shift. The following list of responsibilities and requirements is not intended to be comprehensive and may be modified at any time by Human Resources, in response to current business needs. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Requirements

  • Must have 3 months of work history with one employer within the last 2 years listed on the application.
  • Must have a valid Driver's Licenses.
  • Must be able to obtain a PIT license.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Receives training and performs duties in several departments such as Raw Receiving, Load Out, and Feather Loader/Cook.
  • Learns plant proper operating procedures and practices in each department.
  • Assists in setting their individual performance goals and objectives with their Supervisor.
  • Observes experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of departmental duties.
  • Receives training in functions and operations of all departments to facilitate subsequent transferability between departments and to provide greater job opportunities.
  • Attends company-sponsored training classes.
  • Abides by all company Safety, QA and Human Resource policies.
  • Keep work area clean and free of clutter(housekeeping).
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Use the correct tool for each job assignment.
  • Report injury of oneself or coworker to management.
  • Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document.
  • Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues.
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
