About The Position

Gehl Foods is a fast-growing food and beverage manufacturer, known for ready-to-serve products like nacho cheese and protein shakes—no refrigeration needed! We lead with safety, quality, and teamwork in everything we do. The Utility Operator will work with cross-functional production teams and provide coverage to various lines or processes. This role involves making proper hook-ups and line set-up activities for starting and operating lines, organizing and executing rework, and ensuring line communication boards are filled out. The operator will also train new team members on line operation, including equipment and control system operation, documentation, and sampling requirements. Additionally, the role is responsible for troubleshooting and communicating production issues to the Supervisor and safely operating a forklift to keep the assigned work area supplied with necessary production materials. The operator will also audit line staff’s paperwork to ensure accuracy and real-time completion.

Requirements

  • 3 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in a food, process, high-speed packaging or Form-Fill-Seal industry
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Technical knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment and products
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to interpret, communicate and execute plans or instructions in a time sensitive manner with limited direction and resources
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 55 lbs)
  • Team-player mindset who shows up on time and ready to work
