About The Position

This is a full-time, entry level position conducting meter readings of gas and electric meters throughout the Central Hudson NYS territory. The role involves safely and accurately reading electric and gas consumption meters, inspecting meters and connections for defects, damage, and unauthorized connections, and maintaining polite and professional interactions with the public and clients. The position requires the ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle.

Requirements

• Ability to walk between 1 to 5 miles each day
• Enjoy working outdoors in various types of weather and terrain such as wooded, urban and rural areas.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
• Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push and/or pull, twist and make repetitive hand movements.
• Sitting or standing for prolonged period of time required.
• Complies with all safety rules and regulations set forth by PPS
