About The Position

Under supervision of meter reading supervisor, responsible for reading water meters to collect data to facilitate calculation of consumption and charges, disconnection of water service for nonpayment of account, repair, maintenance and/or replacement of water meters.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED
Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable driving record
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload appropriately.
Ability to operate a smart phone
Must be responsible, reliable and prompt.
Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, vendors, IT staff, and the public.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain social awareness and calmly deal with irate customers

Responsibilities

Drive city vehicle to various routes throughout the city to perform meter reading or meter change-out
Write and maintain a daily work order log
Disconnects water service for various reasons, as assigned
Responsible for keeping assigned city vehicle in a safe and clean condition
Performs other clerical related duties and fulfills responsibilities as assigned; including but not limited to delivering council agendas and/or packets, picking up and delivering city mail, making bank deposits, assist with relocation of furniture and office equipment.
