Utility Maintenance Crew Leader - Nights
About The Position
This role provides leadership, and technical and safety guidance, to crew members. Responsibilities include answering questions and providing information to the public and internal and external customers, preparing a variety of reports, and participating in the daily operations of the assigned section. Depending on the assignment, duties may involve installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing water or wastewater systems; operating Vactor, wash, and rod trucks; assessing and troubleshooting sewer systems; collaborating with GIS staff to upgrade maps; or conducting restoration of excavation/repair sites. Additional tasks may include performing directional flushing, operating hydraulic valve, electric valve, and GPS equipment, and testing and repairing 3” – 12” water meters. The role may require entering confined spaces, manholes, and lift stations, and depending on assignment, ascending high towers and descending into vaults.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of increasingly responsible experience performing water and wastewater maintenance (including equipment operation duties)
- Valid Class A CDL Texas driver’s license
- TCEQ-issued Class C Water Distribution and Collection II Wastewater licenses or higher

- Full Pay Range $26.72 - $37.67 Per Hour
