About The Position

ELM Utility Services is hiring a Utility Locate Technician in the Weatherford, Texas area. Technicians help protect underground gas, electric, and communication systems from excavation damage by accurately marking utility locations. The role involves working independently outdoors from a company-provided vehicle, which serves as a mobile office, and completing a daily route of locate requests. Technicians use the LaunchPoint software system and a mobile work system to receive and manage tasks. Starting wages are $24.00–$32.00 per hour, depending on experience. This is a safety-sensitive DOT position subject to applicable Federal Department of Transportation regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Record check, and background check.
• Ability to distinguish colors and read and understand written and verbal communication and instructions in English.
• Must comply with Federal Department of Transportation regulations applicable to this safety-sensitive position; marijuana use is prohibited.

Responsibilities

• Complete a daily route of utility locate requests while working independently outdoors.
• Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers.
• Use the mobile work system to receive daily tasks.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and work overtime as needed, which may include nights and weekends.
