Utility Inspection Technician (Indoor Inspections)

About The Position

Responsible for entering commercial and residential facilities to check gas meters and pipes for leaks and corrosion. This includes visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed. Meter Inspection Technicians will be required to report to their respective work area on time at the start of each shift. While on-site, the technician will be responsible for identifying any abnormal operating conditions along with accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (the form may be electronic or paper). These are daytime, full-time positions and overtime may be required. Instructor-led training will be provided. This position may require you to work weekends. We are currently hiring throughout the Farmington and Marlborough, MA areas.

Requirements

  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
  • Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
  • Ability to use simple hand tools.
  • Ability to read a utility map.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
  • Customer service experience is a plus.
