Utility Inspection Technician
About The Position
RECONN is looking for Utility Inspection Technicians who are problem solvers, take pride in public safety, and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment. This role is responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion through visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed. Technicians will report to their work area on time at the start of each shift. While on-site, the technician will identify abnormal operating conditions and accurately fill out all forms associated with the inspection visit (electronic or paper). These are daytime, full-time positions with potential overtime and weekend work. Instructor-led training will be provided.
Requirements
- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
- Proficiency with technology.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
- Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
- Ability to use simple hand tools.
- Ability to read a utility map.
Nice To Haves
- Previous outdoor experience is a plus.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
