About The Position

Hotel Emma is seeking passionate, service-driven candidates for the position of Utility Houseperson. The purpose of this position is to be responsible for deep cleaning the housekeeping areas of the hotel and to lead the Houseperson personnel in the duties that they perform.

Requirements

  • Position requires effective communication with guests and co-workers.
  • Ability to present and conduct oneself professionally and emulates the Hotel Emma Culture.
  • Twelve months related experience.
  • Flexible schedule required, to include AM/PM, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and trains all housepersons in their duties.
  • Checks the departures on a daily basis.
  • Inspects housepersons stripped rooms and landings throughout the day and before they leave.
  • Performs deep cleaning duties including shampooing carpets, sweeps, mops and details hard surface floors daily.
  • Checks and inventories linens and supplies along with house persons. Participates in monthly linen inventory and weekly orders or supplies.
  • Receives and stores all deliveries including linen and supplies for Housekeeping.
  • Distributes clean linen and supplies to Housekeeping areas.
  • Assist with collecting and disposing the trash following the recycling method used.
  • Collects and sorts soiled linen to be sent out to the Laundry Company.
  • Collects and sorts cleaning rags and mop heads to be washed in Housekeeping.
  • Ensures all large equipment is properly maintained and secured daily.
  • Aids in budget control by supervising employees use of linen, supplies and equipment.
  • Abides by the regulations of the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
  • Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
  • Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
  • Takes the initiative to greet guests and fellow Associates in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
