UTILITY / DISHROOM (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Utility / Dishwasher maintains kitchen work areas and keeps equipment and utensils clean and orderly at Fairhaven Commons at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. This is a full-time position with shifts that may vary based on business needs. The fixed pay rate is $20.13 per hour. Applicants must have at least one year of experience in a high-volume dishwasher and kitchen-environment utility role. The position supports kitchen sanitation, safety, cleaning, supply handling, and service-area setup. Work may be affected by academic breaks when food-service demand declines or stops; these periods may be unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, associates may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during breaks.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a high-volume dishwasher and kitchen-environment utility role.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop floors in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food-preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam-clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Assist with banquet table and front-of-house setup.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and delivery of supplies and products.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
