Dishroom Shift Supervisor (Full Time)
About The Position
Compass Group is hiring a full-time Dishroom Shift Supervisor at Radford University in Radford, Virginia. The supervisor directs associates’ activities during an assigned shift and oversees completion of job expectations while ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The role includes training associates, preparing schedules, evaluating performance, preparing reports, and supporting quality, productivity, and safety standards. The position pays $16.75 per hour. Shifts may vary, and open availability is required. Prior dishroom experience is preferred. Because the role provides services in an educational facility, work may not be required during some periods, such as winter or summer breaks, when food-service needs decline or cease. These periods may be unpaid and treated as a temporary layoff. Depending on business needs, associates may be asked to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Responsibilities
- Direct associates’ activities during a specific shift and oversee completion of assigned job expectations while maintaining policy and procedure.
- Provide training and create work schedules.
- Evaluate employee performance, reward high performers, and discipline employees who do not meet reasonable work-performance standards.
- Prepare production or sales reports for management.
- Ensure the unit meets quality, productivity, and safety expectations.
- Serve as the contact person for employee complaints or time-off requests.
- Mentor and develop employees and encourage them to set goals and pursue advancement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
