About The Position
A Canton, Ohio area engineering firm seeks an experienced Utility Product Design Engineer who is capable of providing designs and engineering calculations for structural steel pole structures used in conjunction with traffic signal structures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- Experience designing steel pole structures used in conjunction with traffic signal structures
- Experience with traffic signal mast arm poles, high mast lighting, traffic signal structures, tower structures, electrical transmission poles & towers and/or surveillance camera poles.
- Design of high voltage (69 kV to 500 kV) transmission lines using PLS-pole.
- Must be proficient with PLS Pole and AutoCAD.
- Knowledgeable with ODOT standards, safety codes, utility standards, and regulations (NESC, ASCE, IEEE, AASHTO, AWS, ASTM).
- Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
- Only U.S. Citizens or persons with a Green Card work permit may apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform computer modeling and sizing of structures and transmission line components.
- Plans and formulates design structures, size system components, performs structural analysis & calculations and makes design recommendations.
