About The Position

This position is for a Full-Time TMLP Utility Clerk at the Highway 16 location in Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Ag Site Manager, the role involves a variety of customer service, operational, and maintenance duties within the agricultural site. Approximately 90% of the shifts will take place outdoors.

Requirements

  • Strongly service-oriented and motivated.
  • Capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Previous farm or agricultural experience with proven mechanical ability, preferably with farm and agricultural equipment.
  • Proficient in cash register operations.
  • Sufficient knowledge, experience, and physical ability in handling and merchandising products to effectively operate in the department.
  • Must be prepared to increase product knowledge and improve selling techniques through special courses, product clinics, and seminars and training sessions.
  • Able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior forklift experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, professional approach and attitude.
  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts, both inside and outside the facilities.
  • Provide information, assistance, and service to customers to promote sales and meet their needs.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and maintain a neat, clean, and orderly department.
  • Order, receive, and displace merchandise as directed by the Site Manager according to company policies.
  • Operate appropriate equipment, such as a forklift or wheel loader, safely for unloading/loading inventory.
  • Complete pre-use inspections of equipment (forklift, wheel loader, fleet vehicles) and report deficiencies.
  • Operate the bulk seed and/or bulk fertilizer plant safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate product loading and unloading.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory of crop protection, farm equipment, seed, and fertilizer, and report discrepancies.
  • Be responsible for the care and periodic repair/servicing of assigned equipment like grain augers and rental units.
  • Operate the point of sale terminal and prepare daily cash reconciliations when required.
  • Occasionally travel to other agro locations as requested.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
