About The Position

The Utility Clerk provides assistance to customers of the Builders Supply retail store. This role is essential for maintaining store operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position requires on-site attendance to effectively perform duties. If lead status is awarded, the individual will act as a functional expert, assist with daily reports and crew assignments, provide training, maintain inventory levels, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.

Requirements

Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Meet company requirements which may include an evaluation of product knowledge.
Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Responsibilities

Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting, advising, and assisting customers with a positive attitude.
Operate the point of sale system.
Process special orders and track purchase orders.
Take orders for delivery and organize delivery services.
Clean and maintain retail store and stock merchandise.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
Act as a functional expert and serve as a point of contact in the area of responsibility (if lead status awarded).
Assist the supervisor with daily reports and crew member assignments (if lead status awarded).
Provide training (if lead status awarded).
Maintain inventory levels and coordinate work with vendors and contractors (if lead status awarded, based on needs).
