About The Position

The Utilities Technician performs repair and inspection activities for utility equipment: chillers, cooling towers, boilers, air compressors, water systems, vacuum systems, HVAC systems, generators, electrical substations, power distribution systems (high voltage, low voltage), etc. Assists the facilities team in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of Safe Work practices, especially concerning energized work, work at heights, and confined spaces.
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and mitigate or eliminate risk.
Ability to understand and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment for associated tasks.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Performs preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance with minimal interruption to building services.
Requests parts and equipment necessary for repair, maintenance, or new/repaired equipment installation.
Maintains good customer relations by responding quickly and courteously to customer requests.
Control pumps, valves, pressures, and flow rates within the carbon filtration train.
Repair leaks, replace mechanical parts, inspect motors, and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic components.
Perform backwashing to remove trapped impurities or coordinate thermal/chemical carbon regeneration processes.
Collect water samples and measure residual chlorine, turbidity, and differential pressure to ensure filter effectiveness.
