The Utilities Superintendent, under the guidance of the Manager, is responsible to assist in a variety of managerial, skilled, technical, supervisory, and administrative work in the planning, construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of municipal wastewater collection and water distribution systems. As a representative of management, this role supports the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals, and decisions of the Department and City. The Utilities Superintendent exercises supervision over and provides for the development of assigned employees. This role supports the management of human resources, asset management, inventory processes, equipment acquisition, staff training and development, program management, adherence to regulatory agencies, and customer satisfaction. Ensures reliable, safe, water and wastewater services that are compliant with regulatory agencies and customer expectations. Recommends actions related to hiring, discipline, advancement, or other changes in employee status, and assists in the preparation, administration, and monitoring of the department budget.
