About The Position

Nestlé USA is seeking a multi-skilled Utilities Maintenance Technician to conduct a variety of utilities operations and maintenance activities. This role follows the maintenance work process to optimize utility equipment operations and provide ongoing preventive maintenance and improvement support to a pre-determined maintenance plan. The goal is to ensure the continuous supply of quality services needed to produce ready-to-drink beverage products. This position is for the day shift, from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, with a 2/2/3 schedule. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Skills: Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical drive systems, Utility Systems (air, steam, refrigeration etc.).
  • Electrical Skills: Knowledge and ability to interpret National Electrical Code, Power Systems and Distribution, Control Systems, Basic PLC / hardwire logic circuits knowledge, Motor Control Circuits, Safety Circuits.
  • Instrumentation and Field Devices: Analog and discrete devices.
  • Knowledge and use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.).
  • Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Production Workflow/Control systems.
  • Principle of operation.
  • Read and interpret machine, electrical and facility drawings.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial systems.
  • Other Technical Skills (as required): Welding, fabrication and machining skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of equivalent work experience in maintenance related area such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance or Electronics and/or two-year technical degree preferred.
  • At least one year experience in Utilities operations (boilers, compressed air, ammonia refrigeration); food industry experience preferred.
  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive.

Nice To Haves

  • May require internal & external certification such as sanitary welding, vibration, thermography, etc.
  • Certification as licensed Boiler Operator preferred.
  • Certification as licensed Wastewater Operator preferred.
  • Certification as Ammonia Refrigeration Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Starts, stops, operates, monitors, and maintains all utilities and operational support systems.
  • Plans & completes all preventive and corrective maintenance of all facility and office equipment to include but not limited to: Boiler water treatment, Boiler steam and condensate systems, Ammonia refrigeration system (chillers, rooftop units, cooling towers, air handling units, etc.).
  • Maintain low-pressure and high-pressure air compression systems including air dryers.
  • Monitor and coordinate cooling tower water treatment and component repairs.
  • Maintain reverse osmosis (RO) system and components.
  • Maintain silo tank offload systems.
  • Monitor and control all wastewater recycling center equipment to control wastewater discharge.
  • Coordinate plan fire protection systems including sprinkler system, fire pump and alarms.
  • Coordinate maintenance and chemical treatment of cooling towers.
  • Coordination, monitoring, and administration of energy management systems.
  • Ability to manage work orders.
  • Assists in establishing daily checklists and preventive / predictive maintenance programs for utility equipment.
  • Identifies utility equipment problems and improvement opportunities and communicates to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides improvement project support as needed.
  • Maintain power distribution system.
  • Control systems – Basic Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) input/output hardware troubleshooting, motor, sensor, drives and basic electrical circuits, basic understanding of device communication networks.
  • Mechanical system – hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to maintain, optimize and improve production equipment, with key plant indicators such as safety, quality, cost.
  • Review maintenance plans and optimize to drive reliability of equipment.
  • Use, validate, and redline engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical).
