About The Position

Our legal team plays a critical role in ensuring our continued success in the dynamic and highly regulated consumer finance industry. We are currently seeking an Utah-licensed Attorney to join our dynamic, multi-state legal team. This is a remote position based in Utah with regular travel to nearby courts required. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of courtroom experience and motion practice, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is not your traditional law firm setting. You'll be part of a collaborative legal process involving legal assistants, support teams, and multiple stakeholders, all working together to ensure responsible litigation and regulatory compliance in consumer collections.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Utah
  • 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in litigation or collections
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent verbal and written communication
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and legal document management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, problem-solve, and work as a team player
  • Willingness to travel regularly for court appearances across various Utah counties

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with consumer collections and regulatory compliance is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume docket of consumer collection matters throughout Utah
  • Handle all aspects of litigation: from initial filings through post-judgment enforcement
  • Conduct motion practice, hearings, and trials both virtually and in-person
  • Negotiate settlements and communicate with pro se defendants and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with remote legal support staff to ensure timely and accurate filings
  • Maintain strict compliance with state and federal consumer protection laws (FDCPA, CFPB)
  • Conduct legal research and work on special projects as needed
