User Success Manager

Imbue•San Francisco, CA
•$140,000 - $175,000

About The Position

Imbue is looking for a technical, people-oriented builder to help users succeed with its products and to improve those products through user feedback. The User Success Manager will work closely with users to understand their goals, help them get started, troubleshoot problems, and identify what works well or falls short. They will bring user insights directly to product and engineering teams and help shape future product development. The role also involves building a community around Imbue’s products, creating opportunities for users to learn from one another, share their work, contribute ideas, and help shape the products. It combines technical problem-solving, customer success, community building, and product discovery rather than focusing on traditional community management.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical community, developer relations, technical customer success, solutions engineering, or another technical, user-facing role.
  • Technical ability to investigate how a product works, reproduce problems, troubleshoot with users, and communicate effectively with engineers.
  • Ability to understand users’ underlying needs beyond their initial requests.
  • Ability to explain complicated technical ideas simply and clearly.
  • Skill in building genuine relationships and communities.
  • Ability to turn recurring problems into better documentation, tooling, product experiences, or processes.
  • Strong product intuition and ability to distinguish individual anecdotes from actionable patterns.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for building without an established playbook.

Responsibilities

  • Help users get set up with Imbue’s products, troubleshoot technical problems, and discover what they can do with the products.
  • Build relationships with engaged users and understand their goals, workflows, frustrations, and ideas.
  • Become an expert on Imbue’s products and explain technical concepts in useful, approachable ways.
  • Create onboarding materials, documentation, examples, workshops, office hours, and other resources that help users succeed.
  • Build and grow the user community online and in person, encouraging learning, sharing, contribution, and continued participation.
  • Create a close feedback loop between users and product and engineering teams by surfacing patterns, use cases, friction, and ideas.
  • Identify and share stories about what users are building with Imbue.
  • Build systems and processes to support a larger community as it grows.

Benefits

  • Lunch provided daily at the San Francisco office.
  • $250 monthly lifestyle stipend.
  • Budget for self-improvement, including coaching, courses, and conferences.
  • Opportunity to co-create and participate in a positive, intentional team culture.
  • Frequent team events, dinners, off-sites, and hangouts.
