User Experience (UX) Designer
About The Position
Designs intuitive, accessible, and effective user experiences across NSF digital platforms. Conducts user research, usability testing, and accessibility evaluations. Develops personas, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction flows. Evaluates existing content and interfaces to identify usability and accessibility improvements. Ensures UX designs align with Section 508/WCAG and the U.S. Web Design System. Collaborates with developers, designers, writers, and stakeholders to balance usability and feasibility. Documents findings and presents recommendations to project teams and leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of professional UX design experience.
- Demonstrated experience with user research, testing, and accessibility-focused design.
- Proven ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and task flows.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting public-sector or federal digital platforms preferred.
