About The Position

SLB is seeking a forward-thinking Product Designer to help define the next generation of AI-native software. The role focuses on architecting agentic workflows in which autonomous or semi-autonomous AI agents assist users, anticipate needs, and execute complex tasks. The designer will translate complex business logic and ambiguous user problems into clear, seamless journeys, and create Generative UI systems that adapt in real time to model outputs, structured data, and human feedback. The position covers end-to-end product design, from discovery and problem definition through research, high-fidelity design, interactive prototyping, validation, and developer handoff. The designer will collaborate with design systems and engineering teams to establish dynamic interface patterns, and work closely with ML/AI Engineers, Product Managers, and Data Scientists to turn model capabilities into intuitive experiences. SLB describes itself as a global technology company working to drive energy innovation for a balanced planet. Its Eureka Technical Career (SETC) framework offers technical contributors recognition, reward, and influence parallel to management progression. The position uses BlueFlex hybrid working, combining on-site and home-working days.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of digital product design experience.
  • Direct experience shipping AI-powered, conversational, or agentic features in production.
  • Demonstrated understanding of multi-agent patterns, command interfaces, canvas-based workspaces, tool calling, and human-in-the-loop guardrails.
  • Experience structuring design tokens and component libraries for dynamic consumption by AI models and front-end frameworks.
  • High proficiency in high-fidelity interactive prototyping for multi-state AI interactions, micro-animations, and dynamic UI transitions.
  • A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end problem solving, strong UI craft, customer empathy, and experience with complex user workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree in HCI or Design, or work experience designing and building agentic experiences.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with React or Vercel AI SDK.

Responsibilities

  • Architect agentic and non-linear workflows for autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents, balancing human control with system autonomy through approval checkpoints, override states, and feedback loops.
  • Design generative and adaptive UI systems, including dynamic UI patterns, cards, flexible canvases, and generative UI tokens.
  • Design for AI uncertainty, confidence levels, latency, loading states, and hallucination handling, and create transparent, accountable, and explainable interaction patterns.
  • Lead end-to-end product design from discovery and problem definition through high-fidelity UI design, interactive prototyping, and developer handoff.
  • Design clear and intuitive user flows across traditional and emerging interaction patterns, including adaptive cards, generative UI components, and intelligent assistants.
  • Conduct qualitative research, usability testing, and rapid prototyping; validate assumptions and iterate based on user feedback.
  • Collaborate with ML/AI Engineers, Product Managers, and Data Scientists to translate model capabilities, APIs, tools, and RAG pipelines into intuitive user experiences.
