About The Position

Responsible for all aspects of acquiring used-car inventory through direct contacts, generated leads, off-site auctions, dealers, internet inquiries from customers, or any other available avenues. This role involves appraising vehicles, understanding vehicle condition, negotiating prices, making financially sound purchasing decisions, and ensuring timely processing of all purchases. The Used Vehicle Buyer is responsible for understanding retail trends and participating in the inventory planning process. They must deliver a premium customer experience by responding to customer inquiries promptly, professionally, accurately, and courteously. This highly accountable position utilizes lead management tools and requires working in a fast-paced team environment, being an effective self-starter, and working individually as needs dictate. The role involves generating leads and creating appointments by researching the available used car market, meeting car buying quotas, and understanding market tendencies and changes in trends across all geographic areas. Developing effective working relationships with all purchasing venues is crucial to accelerate the placement of ideal inventory in an expeditious and cost-effective manner. The Used Vehicle Buyer must effectively utilize lead management tools and compile all necessary reports, forms, and other documentation on a timely basis. They are required to be the expert in all aspects of purchasing, shipping, selling, and stocking vehicles.
