About The Position

Sureway Construction is seeking a Used Parts Heavy Equipment Technician for their Used Parts Division in Villeneuve, AB. This role is crucial for supporting Sureway Construction's extensive operations in heavy construction, including civil earthworks, utilities, mining, and aggregate extraction. The technician will be responsible for dismantling equipment, performing quality checks, maintenance, repairs, and managing parts inventory and orders.

Requirements

Must be a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician with Red Seal – Off Road or equivalent
3rd year apprentices will be considered for this position
Apprentices must be in good standing with AIT.
Personal Reliable Vehicle
Valid Class 5 Drivers License
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Fitness to Work Assessment

Nice To Haves

Prior CAT - SIS experience is considered a strong asset.
Prior Komatsu experience is beneficial.
GET/Undercarriage knowledge is an asset.
Prior experience working as a Journeyperson Mechanic or mechanical background is considered a strong asset.
Working with Inventory

Responsibilities

Dismantle equipment and remove parts
Conduct performance and quality checks according to procedure
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and overhauls
Ensure orders are filled in a timely manner, using electronic order systems.
Ensuring time efficiency when filing orders.
Research, identify and communicate cost.
Assist with maintaining inventory.
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
