The Used Car Technician is a skilled-level technician who can diagnose and repair vehicles across all areas, with specialization in particular repair areas. The role is for someone who has previously worked as an A- or B-Class general service technician. The position is at Bergey’s Ford in Ambler, Pennsylvania, is full-time, and does not require Sunday work.

Requirements

Previous experience as an A- or B-Class general service technician.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.
Manufacturer training.
State emission certification.
State vehicle inspector certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

Perform repair-order work efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs.
Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
Save and tag parts from a job when work is under warranty or when requested by the customer.
Examine assigned vehicles to determine whether additional safety or service work is required or recommended.
Promptly notify the service advisor when additional work is needed, outlined work is unnecessary, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Document work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Road-test vehicles when required or refer them to the test technician.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
