About The Position
Russ Darrow Metro CJDR is seeking a Used Car Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain used vehicles so they are ready for sale, with particular emphasis on thorough safety inspections. The technician uses advanced tools and equipment to address mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and accurately while meeting manufacturer and dealership standards. Prior automotive experience is preferred, but formal shop experience is not required. Continuous training and support are provided. Starting pay is $40–$50 per hour.
Requirements
- Automotive background.
- Teamwork skills and a can-do attitude.
- Clean and valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background screening.
Nice To Haves
- Previous shop experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance and repair tasks specified in work orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning systems to meet specifications.
- Conduct test drives and use diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment to evaluate vehicle components and systems.
- Thoroughly perform safety inspections on used cars purchased by the store.
- Communicate mechanical diagnoses and necessary repairs clearly to service advisors and customers in non-technical language.
