About The Position

We are looking for a modern Used Car Manager who can thrive in today’s dynamic automotive market. The ideal candidate understands inventory acquisition, digital retailing, market-based pricing, and operational efficiency. If you have a history of increasing inventory turn, maximizing profitability, and building high-performing teams, we want to hear from you. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of the used vehicle department including inventory, pricing, merchandising, and sales performance.

Requirements

  • Has experience with auto sales, both new and used
  • Is competent using a variety of softwares and will use all tools available, including AI.
  • Leads with compassion and gets the most out of their team
  • Jumps into any situation and try and improve things.
  • Has a valid Utah Driver’s License and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Source quality inventory through trade-ins, auctions, direct purchases, service lane acquisitions, and online buying platforms.
  • Analyze market trends, vehicle values, and competitor pricing to maintain a competitive and profitable inventory mix.
  • Establish and maintain inventory turn objectives while achieving gross profit targets.
  • Oversee vehicle appraisals and ensure accurate valuations using current market data and appraisal tools.
  • Manage reconditioning processes to balance vehicle quality, speed-to-market, and profitability.
  • Monitor aging inventory and implement pricing and marketing strategies to optimize turn rates.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, service, and marketing departments to maximize dealership performance.
  • Ensure inventory is effectively merchandised across dealership websites and third-party marketplaces.
  • Develop and mentor sales staff to improve used vehicle sales performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics including inventory turn, gross profit, acquisition costs, and sales volume.
  • Maintain compliance with all dealership policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
