About The Position
The Used Car Manager oversees the used car inventory, acquires used vehicles for the dealership and establishes pricing based on market conditions and dealership goals. This role is part of the Sales Department and reports to the General Sales Manager.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Automotive Sales Management experience (USED CAR MANAGEMENT PREFERRED)
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Knowledge of the local market and auctions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Ability to work well in a process driven environment
- Clean driver’s license and must be insurable through liability insurance company
Responsibilities
- Maintain used car inventory; manage physical and online inventory
- Meet monthly forecast for used car sales volume sustaining sufficient gross to meet profit objectives.
- Appraise all incoming used vehicles; ensure that cosmetic and mechanical reconditioning is performed within the dealership’s cost and time limitations
- Keep informed of auto auction activity and prices; attend auctions on a regular basis
- Establish processes and controls wholesaling activities
- Enhance customer satisfaction during the entire purchase experience
- Communicate daily with sales management team regarding anything relevant to used car targets and inventory
- Know and understand the federal, state and local laws which govern retail automotive sale
- Other duties as assigned
