About The Position

The USCC FP&A Head partners with the USCC CFO and the Global Head of FP&A to lead the delivery of strategic financial forecasting, insights and analytics to internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, members of the Executive Management Team (EMT), and regulators. This executive-level role reports into the Global Head of FP&A and is a key member of the FP&A and CFO leadership teams, central to driving informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who takes pride in building relationships and driving followership, owning and driving end-to-end transformation, delivery of high-quality strategic content, and thrives in an environment of continuous improvement, and builds high-performing teams. Requirements

  • 15+ years progressive FP&A experience in large, complex financial institutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related quantitative field required
  • Proven success in strategic partnership and communication at an executive level
  • Proven ability to influence, build strong relationships and foster collaboration across functions at various organizational levels
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for executive audiences
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage diverse teams.
  • Experience in talent management, succession planning, and building high-performing finance teams
  • Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to finance transformation initiatives, process automation, and system implementations
  • Proactive and innovative problem-solver, capable of navigating complex challenges and driving effective solutions
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the banking sector including treasury and balance sheet concepts to be able to synthesize complex financial data into actionable insights, identify trends, and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and analytical tools
  • Proficiency with advanced FP&A systems, business intelligence tools, and data visualization platforms
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, risk management principles, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in leading and adapting to organizational change, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
  • High integrity

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for USCC CFO teams, fostering strong relationships and ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across the FP&A organization
  • Partner with USCC LFOs to provide thought leadership and strategic financial guidance to key stakeholders and business partners
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, impactful analytics/narratives and develop strategic agenda items for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Earnings calls, and other key deliverables
  • Develop compelling and insightful thinking, integrating diverse stakeholder inputs (e.g., from the Business, CFO, Treasury, Balance Sheet, and Expense FP&A, Risk teams)
  • Synthesize complex information and communicate key findings effectively to stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making
  • Be able to engage with EMT members directly to act as the designated representative for the USCC CFO, addressing segment-wide issues and attending meetings at their request.
  • Cultivate, inspire and develop finance talent, serving as an incubator for future leaders
  • Lead and motivate the USCC FP&A team with a focus on building skills capabilities, raising engagement and supporting the team through change
  • Own and/or be a thought-leader in the complete production cycle for reporting, variance analysis, business forecasts, and relevant governance requirements and processes (e.g., Operating Plan, Quarterly Multi-year Multi-scenario Forecast (QMMF), CCAR, Outlooks, Weekly Financial Updates (WFU), Actuals, Earnings)
  • Lead and collaborate with other FP&A divisions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with CFO / LFO inputs
  • Partner with the FP&A Transformation Leads to co-own and drive the execution of the Transformation Program
  • Lead the successful implementation of relevant aspects of the Finance Transformation that pertain to their functional discipline, ensuring the realization of full benefits
  • Design and deliver detailed analytics and dashboards that provide deeper insights and facilitate informed reviews that drive outcomes
  • Collaborate with other Finance and Risk functions to identify, create and drive adoption of user-friendly, accurate, and relevant tools for stakeholders
  • Lead and collaborate with the FP&A Risk & Control Lead and Finance CAO to facilitate the execution of the Risk & Control agenda, enhancing the operational effectiveness of Finance within their area of responsibility and across FP&A
