About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a Urology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). The role involves both outpatient and call coverage within a practice that includes 2 Physicians and 2 APPs. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating call coverage (1:4). The average patient load is 22 patients per day, and the patient population is adult. The EMR system used is EPIC. Credentialing is expected to take 60-90 days. This position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) role.

Requirements

Active Washington licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS certifications
Minimum 1-year Urology experience or equivalent
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Washington OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Washington
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
