About The Position

New Smyrna Beach Animal Medical Center is expanding its weekend urgent care services and is looking for a motivated Associate Veterinarian to join their team. This veterinarian will be responsible for providing urgent and urgent-to-primary veterinary care in a fast-paced, collaborative clinic environment. The role involves providing urgent medical and surgical care for a wide range of cases including trauma, acute illnesses, lacerations, and urgent soft-tissue procedures. Responsibilities include triaging and stabilizing emergency patients, performing diagnostics such as radiographs and point-of-care lab work, and clearly communicating treatment plans and prognoses to clients. The veterinarian will also coordinate with the weekday primary care team to ensure follow-up care and continuity, maintain medical records, ensure quality of care, and adhere to hospital protocols.

Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent degree with eligibility for Florida licensure
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with confidence in urgent care or general practice medicine
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of care
  • Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA accredited university
  • Current DEA License or obtained upon hire
  • Active Veterinary State License
  • USDA Accreditation or obtained upon hire

Responsibilities
