About The Position

UrgentVet provides after-hours urgent care for canine and feline patients, bridging daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care. The clinic treats common urgent cases such as wounds, ear infections, vomiting and diarrhea, and euthanasia. The role involves urgent care only, with no wellness appointments and no abdominal surgeries. Veterinarians work single-doctor shifts and manage a varying caseload of surgeries and appointments during open hours. The paperless, modern clinics use cloud-based electronic medical records, digital X-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The practice describes itself as feline-friendly, uses a Fear Free approach, and provides a strong technical team and support. The schedule is flexible and limited to swing/second shifts.

Requirements

• DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college, or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program.
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state of employment, or the ability to obtain a license in that state.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and clients using a relationship-based approach.

• Encourage the growth of support staff through the internal LevelUp training program.
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during open hours.
