Urgent Care Veterinarian

American Veterinary Group•Naperville, IL

About The Position

UrgentVet provides after-hours urgent care for canine and feline patients in the Naperville, Illinois area, bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care without additional emergency-clinic fees. The practice handles common urgent cases such as wound management, ear infections, vomiting and diarrhea, and euthanasia. The role is described as urgent care only, with no wellness appointments and no abdominal surgeries. Veterinarians work single-doctor shifts and manage a varying caseload of surgeries and appointments during open hours. The paperless clinics are specially designed for efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The practice highlights a Fear Free approach, feline-friendly care, a strong technical team and support, modern hospitals, and a flexible swing/second-shift schedule. The veterinarian serves patients and clients using a relationship-based approach, collaborates with the clinical team and leadership, builds relationships within the practice and Chicago community, and supports staff development through the internal LevelUp training program.
