About The Position

Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in Lacey, Washington, is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their well-established, 6-doctor, AAHA-accredited practice. This role is primarily focused on urgent care, but is open to candidates interested in a mix of General Practice and Urgent Care. The hospital is capable of managing a wide range of urgent and emergent cases in-house, including advanced procedures like GDVs, splenectomies, C-sections, and blood transfusions. Common urgent care cases include ear infections, vomiting, inappetence, lameness, diarrhea, skin conditions, ADRs, and toxicity cases. The veterinarian will be supported by a team of 7 licensed veterinary technicians.

Requirements

  • Veterinarian with enjoyment for urgent care medicine, variety, and clinical challenge.
  • Ability to problem-solve in real time.
  • Comfort level with managing urgent and emergent cases in-house.
  • Willingness to perform advanced procedures based on comfort level.
  • Experience with common urgent care presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Commitment to high standards of medicine and client communication.
  • Willingness to work weekend medicine.
  • Must be able to provide Sunday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a wide range of urgent and emergent cases in-house.
  • Perform advanced procedures such as GDVs, splenectomies, C-sections, and blood transfusions.
  • Treat common urgent care presentations including ear infections, vomiting, inappetence, lameness, diarrhea, skin conditions, ADRs, and toxicity cases.
  • Collaborate with experienced doctors and technicians on challenging cases.
  • Practice high-quality, evidence-based medicine with a strong emphasis on client communication and patient care.
  • Provide mentorship and growth opportunities for other team members.
  • Work four 10-hour shifts per week.
  • Provide Sunday coverage.
