Urgent Care Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - Per Diem
About The Position
Carbon Health is hiring a per diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide patient-centered urgent care in a supportive, team-oriented clinical environment. Clinicians conduct assessments, diagnose and treat urgent care conditions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, perform common urgent care procedures, and help maintain efficient patient flow. They can access a supervisor or experienced colleague for support and collaborate with peers and specialists to improve patient outcomes. The role offers flexibility and may provide opportunities to move into part-time or full-time employment when available. Clinicians work with CarbyOS, Carbon Health’s AI-powered electronic health record, and may have opportunities to pick up shifts at multiple clinic locations across Southern California. The per diem base rate is $61–$80 per hour, with compensation depending on factors including education, experience, work history, and geographic location.
Requirements
- Physician Assistants must have a medical or master’s degree, a valid state license, and national certification.
- Nurse Practitioners must have an RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license.
- Valid and unrestricted medical license.
- Ability to treat patients of all ages.
- DOT certification must be obtained before the start date; Carbon Health covers course and exam fees and provides resources.
- BLS certification is required before the first day of work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for a variety of urgent care conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, labs, and EKGs.
- Perform typical urgent care procedures, such as wound closures, I&Ds, and splint applications.
- Collaborate with peers and specialists to enhance patient outcomes.
- Triage and manage patients efficiently to maintain a smooth clinic flow.
