About The Position
Carbon Health is hiring a per diem urgent care clinician who is a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. The clinician provides patient-centered care for patients of all ages, working as part of a collaborative clinical team with access to supervisors and experienced colleagues. The role offers flexible per diem work, with potential to transition to part-time or full-time employment when opportunities are available. Clinicians may work across Carbon Health clinics in Southern California and use CarbyOS, the company’s proprietary AI-powered electronic health record.
Requirements
- Physician Assistants must have a medical or master's degree, a valid state license, and national certification.
- Nurse Practitioners must have an RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license.
- Hold a valid and unrestricted medical license.
- Be able to treat patients of all ages.
- Obtain DOT certification before the start date; Carbon Health covers course and examination fees and provides preparation resources.
- Hold BLS certification before the first day of work.

Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments, diagnose conditions, and provide treatment for a range of urgent care needs.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, laboratory tests, and EKGs.
- Perform urgent care procedures such as wound closures, incision and drainage, and splint applications.
- Collaborate with peers and specialists to support patient outcomes.
- Triage and manage patients to maintain efficient clinic flow.
