We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers in the surrounding region. Sign on bonus up to $13,500 for external candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree for Physician Assistants
  • Master's Degree for Nurse Practitioners
  • One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience.
  • Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.
  • National Certification
  • Active state medical licensure
  • Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred
  • Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.
  • Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays .
  • Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting .
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections.
  • Recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.
  • Examine and treat patients.
  • Take patients’ medical histories.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
  • Make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
  • Treat minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting.
  • Record progress notes for follow-up patients.
  • Educate and counsel patients.
  • Order and/or carry out therapy with patients.
  • Give vaccinations, and refer patients to additional care.
