About The Position

The Urgent Care Nurse Manager coordinates care for patients in the Urgi-care setting, ensuring office operations conform to principles of good clinical care. This role involves creating and monitoring office systems to promote customer service, satisfaction, and maximize center efficiency. The manager directly supervises employees of the Urgent Care Center, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, selection, training, scheduling, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution. The position also involves providing professional nursing care and support, assisting physicians, triaging patients, documenting care, and ensuring staff adherence to quality and documentation standards. The manager oversees administrative and patient records, billing operations, mail operations, and purchasing of equipment and supplies. They are responsible for coordinating building maintenance and ensuring adequate stock levels. The role includes preparing reports, conducting special projects, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, serving as an advocate, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The manager also assesses personal learning needs, acts as a resource, and conducts staff meetings to promote professional growth.

Requirements

  • BSN
  • Current RN Licensure in MA
  • 3 - 4 years of clinical experience in an emergency, critical care or urgent care setting
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates care for patients in the Urgi-care setting.
  • Creates and monitors office systems that promote customer service, customer satisfaction, and maximize center efficiency.
  • Directly supervises employees of the Urgent Care Center, including interviewing, selection, training, scheduling, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution.
  • Provides professional nursing care and support for center patients.
  • Assists in providing nursing care to center patients under the supervision of the Physician.
  • Triage and evaluate patients, obtain major complaints and brief medical history, and take vital signs with complete chart documentation.
  • Ensures staff provides quality safe care according to current standards of practice for administration of procedures/treatments/medications.
  • Ensures staff documents according to entity/dept. guidelines.
  • Oversees the maintenance and filing for administrative and patient records and correspondence.
  • Coordinates and monitors billing operations.
  • Maintains medical records; ensures compliance with policies and procedures and acceptable medical record keeping practices.
  • Assists in the preparation of medical records for utilization review.
  • Ensures that incoming calls are handled in an efficient, customer friendly manner, managing the flow of calls to proper staff members, and maintaining the messaging system.
  • Oversees daily mail operations.
  • Purchases equipment and materials required for the day-to-day operations of the center.
  • Overall responsibility for coordinating building maintenance.
  • Ensures proper level of stock and maintenance of necessary supplies, equipment, precautionary cart and pharmaceuticals weekly.
  • Prepares administrative and management reports, correspondence.
  • Conducts special projects and related activities for the practice as requested.
  • Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information.
  • Serves as an advocate and provides a safe and secure environment.
  • Participates in identification of the important aspects of care for each patient, the identification of indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care.
  • Assesses personal and learning developmental needs and acts as a resource person.
  • Conducts staff meetings and other activities which promote the growth and developmental of nursing and patient care.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or necessary.
