About The Position

The Charge Nurse - Urgent Care position provides primary leadership in coordinating nursing care with other healthcare disciplines and facilitates the integration of services across the continuum of care. This role collaborates with PLAC and the rapid response team to facilitate appropriate and timely patient placement when necessary. The Charge Nurse collaborates effectively by developing collegial relationships and communicating information effectively, encouraging communication and serving as a resource to staff and other departments. This position promotes a culture of safety for patients, self, co-workers, and the facility in conjunction with the Nurse Manager and/or RN Clinic Manager and other members of the leadership team. The Charge Nurse facilitates the Care Delivery Model by monitoring quality/safety outcomes and implementing performance improvement measures for identified metrics, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory compliance initiatives. Care is delivered with respect for patients' rights and preferences, maintaining privacy, confidentiality, and security for patients and staff. The Charge Nurse facilitates resolution of conflicts, collaborates with Service Excellence to promote service recovery, and empowers staff in decision-making through shared governance. This role collaborates with the Nurse Manager and/or RN Clinic Manager and other members of the leadership team to monitor staffing and supplies, assuring nursing workload is measured and resources are allocated based on patient needs and visit volumes to optimize the provision of quality, cost-effective care. The Charge Nurse facilitates and monitors the appropriate utilization of staff based on credentialing, scope of practice, education, and experience. This role ensures a biogenic environment that stimulates the ongoing professional development of staff in accordance with the principles of Shared Governance, Theory of Human Caring, and professional practice. The Charge Nurse develops and fosters relationships that support the continuous enhancement of care delivery and patient and staff satisfaction through a professional practice environment of mutual respect. This position demonstrates value for professional nursing practice, including the utilization of current standards, the nursing process, and patient advocacy. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager and/or RN Clinic Manager and other members of the leadership team, the Charge Nurse takes responsibility for continuing education, developing best practices, and maintaining the highest level of patient care and staff development. The Charge Nurse ensures/provides appropriate patient care in accordance with specific patient populations, demonstrating and utilizing knowledge of the needs of the patient population specific to the defined clinical area and identifying strategies to meet related needs.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with two years' acute care nursing experience required.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of applicable state required.
