About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a collaborative physician, physician site leader, and practice manager, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to patients within a detailed scope of practice agreed upon with the collaborative physician. In the ambulatory care setting, the APP completes physicals; orders diagnostic and therapeutic modalities such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and EKGs; performs procedures including injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management; prescribes medications; educates patients and families on healthcare, illness prevention, and home care; and documents progress notes and orders in patient charts. These responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice to optimize clinical outcomes. The NP/PA must be credentialed as a mid-level provider by the same hospital(s) where the collaborative physician has admitting privileges. This primary care opportunity is based in Hannibal, Missouri.

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner program or a master's degree as a Physician Assistant.
• Licensed or able to obtain licensure in Missouri.
• Credentialing as a mid-level provider by the same hospital(s) where the collaborative physician has admitting privileges.

• At least 1 year of experience as a practicing APP in primary care or a similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients within the agreed-upon scope of practice.
