About The Position

South Star Urgent Care, part of Community Care Partners, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for its urgent care and occupational medicine team in Westlake, Louisiana. The role provides outpatient care in an urgent care setting, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, procedures, referrals, occupational health care, and telemedicine. The practitioner works with experienced clinical teams and uses the organization’s facilities and technology. Additional duties may be assigned by the Medical Director.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in the state, or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain DOT certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain DEA licensure.
• Knowledge of treatment and drug interactions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient patient care, including procedures normally performed in an urgent care setting.
• Deliver care and treatment and make referrals.
• Arrange referrals to medical specialties not provided by the organization.
• Evaluate patients through physical examinations, establish diagnoses, and propose treatment plans.
• Perform clinical procedures within the practitioner’s scope and skill.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment goals to patients.
• Maintain accurate, complete, concise, and timely electronic medical record documentation, with attention to coding and clinical documentation integrity.
• Provide occupational and telemedicine patient care.
• Perform non-patient-facing duties, such as reviewing laboratory and X-ray results.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned by the Medical Director.
