About The Position

Chase Staffing is hiring for an Upright Induction Paint Operator in the Adairsville, GA area. This role involves applying electrostatic powder coatings to steel uprights using automated conveyor systems, ensuring proper adhesion, thickness, and finish quality. The operator will manage the full coating process from surface preparation through curing while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in powder coating or industrial painting environments
  • Knowledge of spray equipment, coating systems, and safety procedures
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow technical specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Applied electrostatic powder coatings to steel uprights using automated conveyor systems, ensuring proper adhesion, thickness, and finish quality.
  • Managed full coating process from surface preparation through curing while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
  • Prepared metal surfaces using degreasing, rinsing, and phosphating pre-treatment processes.
  • Operated electrostatic powder coating booths to apply uniform coatings to parts on conveyor lines.
  • Adjusted and monitored equipment settings including spray guns, air pressure, and oven temperatures.
  • Performed color changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime and contamination.
  • Monitored and maintained proper coating thickness (mil) and adhesion per customer specifications.
  • Conducted quality inspections before and after coating to identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Operated conveyors and handled materials throughout the coating and curing process.
  • Maintained and troubleshot paint systems, including booths, hoppers, and spray equipment.
  • Completed preventive maintenance and ensured availability of spare parts.
  • Monitored chemical baths (pH levels, titration) for pre-treatment systems.
  • Measured coating thickness using tools such as Elcometer gauges.
  • Verified curing temperatures using infrared cameras.
  • Ensured compliance with coating specifications and quality standards.
  • Followed all PPE requirements (safety glasses, respirator/mask, gloves, ear protection, protective clothing).
  • Maintained clean work areas using ATEX vacuum systems and proper powder collection methods.
  • Ensured safe handling and disposal of powder materials and chemicals.
  • Adhered to OSHA and workplace safety regulations.
