The Marshall Induction Program at Summit Public Schools in California is a two-year, individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring and professional learning for early career teachers. It supports teachers in developing according to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession through high-quality coaching and professional development aligned with Summit's instructional priorities and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing standards. The program aims to diversify the teacher workforce and support retention. The Induction Mentor is crucial for implementing the program by observing and coaching teachers, monitoring progress, and collaborating with school leaders. The role also involves supporting the Marshall Intern Program by coaching intern teachers and facilitating coursework. This is a mobile-centric role requiring travel between school sites. The Induction Mentor is part of the Marshall program faculty team, collaborating with other mentors to ensure program alignment and coherence. Expertise in various credential areas and geographic locations is sought to ensure program success across all participating teachers and school sites. The Induction Mentor reports to the Executive Director of Marshall Credentialing Programs. Marshall Street and Summit Public Schools are dedicated to preparing students for fulfilled lives, with a mission to equip a diverse community of young people with the skills, knowledge, and habits for economic empowerment and success. Summit operates 10 schools in the Bay Area and Washington state, with 100% of graduates being college-ready and completing college at double the national average. Marshall develops educators and leaders for Summit Public Schools and beyond, operating accredited educator preparation programs including the Induction Program, Intern Program, and Teacher Residency.
