About The Position
The Upper School Exceptional Children Teacher will be responsible for delivering specific course content, orienting students to their coursework, communicating coursework and upholding school requirements. This role requires accessibility to students and parents, with the teacher taking a proactive role in supplementing coursework with enrichment opportunities, grading student progress, participating in state testing, and supporting all aspects of student learning. The teacher will also maintain a shared view of OPS's mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Proven aptitude in the specified subject area
- Licensed in their subject area
- Demonstrated record of achieving/exceeding student growth expectations
- Dynamic & compassionate individuals
- Smart, well-educated in their field
- Ability to instruct and meet diverse learning styles
- Strong belief in the ability of students to succeed and a willingness to do what is needed to make that possible
- Entrepreneurial focus to their teaching
- Willingness to work as part of a team and support the school’s mission
- Receptive attitude towards change
