About The Position

University Prep (UPrep) is seeking a talented, engaging, and compassionate Upper School Boys Ultimate Frisbee Coach. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching Ultimate Frisbee required.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain valid First Aid/CPR card.
  • Must be a strong, successful Ultimate Frisbee player.
  • Deep knowledge of the intricacies of the game of Ultimate Frisbee.
  • Understanding of the developmental needs of upper school-aged students.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical education or related field from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Recent successful coaching experience in an Upper School environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach appropriate fundamentals, techniques, and skills in Ultimate Frisbee.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the athletes.
  • Cooperate with the Varsity Head Coach to articulate a well-defined and understandable coaching philosophy.
  • Apply developmentally appropriate and age-appropriate methods to coaching student-athletes.
  • Emphasize sportsmanship and leadership among athletes.
  • Clearly communicate with players, parents, administrators, and staff.
  • Positively motivate athletes and promote teamwork.
  • Attend all meetings and training as required by the league and/or Athletic Director.
  • Comply with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s documents.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Salary Stipend is based on experience and ranges from $4,000-$5,800.
  • Stipend paid in two installments: last working day of September and October.
