About The Position

The UPK Teacher adapts teaching methods and materials to meet children’s interests and learning styles, manages classroom activities, and supports children’s developmental progress. The teacher builds positive relationships with children and parents, tracks progress and communicates it to families, and plans activities that foster self-esteem and social skills. The role includes participating in staff and training meetings, continuing education, and implementing the High Scope approach. The listed shift schedule is 8:00 am–4:00 pm. The posting gives two compensation ranges: $65,000–$75,000 annually, based on education level and qualifications, and $60,000–$65,000 per year.

Requirements

P-3 Certificate required.
Experience implementing the High Scope approach.

Responsibilities

Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
Manage classroom activities, including lessons, play, breaks, and meals.
Track children’s progress and report to parents.
Help children reach developmental milestones.
Plan and implement activities that develop self-esteem and social skills.
Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
Participate in staff and training meetings.
Commit to continuing education.
