About The Position
Kenmore Air is an iconic Pacific Northwest aviation company with nearly 80 years of history in seaplane operations, aircraft maintenance, and restoration. We are looking for an Upholstery Specialist who is eager to learn the craft of aircraft interior work in a hands-on, mentorship-driven environment. No prior aircraft experience is required, but a passion for quality work and attention to detail are a must.
Requirements
- The ability to sew
- Genuine desire to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in aircraft interiors
- Tools and the skills to use them
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Nice To Haves
- Any prior experience in upholstery: aviation, marine, automotive, or furniture
- Vocational training in a related trade
- FAA Repairman’s certificate
Responsibilities
- Work alongside our experienced head of upholstery to learn fabrication, repair, and installation of aircraft interior components including seats, headliners, side panels, and carpeting
- Assist with cutting, sewing, and fitting materials including leather, fabric, and vinyl
- Learn to read patterns and interpret basic engineering drawings
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly handle tools and materials
- Support the broader maintenance and restoration team as needed
