About The Position

HM Richards is a financially stable, 28-year-old upholstery and furniture manufacturing company focused on expansion. Its mission is to make beautiful furniture while reducing its environmental footprint through planet-friendly materials and processes. The company is hiring an Upholsterer at its Guntown, Mississippi location. The Upholsterer completes assignments using a staple gun, frame, cardboard, cover, and other materials and tools to upholster furniture. The role involves maintaining quality throughout the work, recognizing different furniture styles, and using the correct parts and techniques. The position also involves communicating with the supervisor and upholstery float as needed, collaborating with coworkers, wearing appropriate PPE, and keeping the work area clean and orderly.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience working in a furniture manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of an assembly-line-type environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to submit to a drug test and background investigation.
Authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Upholster furniture by stapling cardboard to frames, padding frames with cardboard or poly, and upholstering frames with cut and sewn covers.
Maintain quality at every step, inspecting frames, covers, and sewn parts to ensure proper quality standards.
Recognize different furniture styles and use the appropriate parts and techniques for each style.
Communicate with the supervisor and upholstery float about questions or problems that arise while performing the job.
Work closely with other employees to maintain a team atmosphere.
Wear appropriate PPE and keep the work area clean and orderly.
Perform other duties as instructed by the supervisor.
