About The Position

As an Upfit Technician 1, you will perform a variety of high-level activities related to truck body and trailers. Activities include but are not limited to knowledge of truck body and van electrical and hydraulic issues, disassemble and reassemble all sections of the truck body, body mounts, upfitting, as well as diagnose and repair as needed.

Requirements

Basic understanding of 12v or automotive electrical system.

Ability to disassemble and reassemble all sections of the truck body
Knowledge of body mounts and upfitting
Ability to diagnose and repair truck bodies and trailers
Ability to operate Pneumatic and battery powered cordless tools
Ability to read basic drawings and prints
Ability to operate lifting devices (forklift/ stacker)
Ability to apply adhesives and mechanical fasteners
Ability to operate sanders and apply light duty paint material
Ability to operate saws and drill press equipment
Ability to record part numbers on work orders

Responsibilities

Follow all Wabash Nationals WPO guidelines, attain all required certifications, work safely, and use proper PPE.
Work in a team environment.
Do repairs and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
Before beginning an assignment, read the work order completely, check the VIN on the vehicle to insure you have the correct components and vehicle for the assigned job.
Operate Pneumatic and battery powered cordless tools.
Read basic drawings and prints.
Ability to operate lifting devices (forklift/ stacker)
Apply adhesives and mechanical fasteners, operate sanders and apply light duty paint material, operate saws and drill press equipment.
Ability to record part numbers on work orders.
Basic understanding of 12v or automotive electrical system.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
