About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors – Greater Victoria is seeking knowledgeable and experienced University Tutors to join our growing team in Victoria, BC. We provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring in libraries and online, supporting university and college students as they work toward academic success. We are looking for tutors with strong subject expertise who can help students understand complex concepts, strengthen their academic skills, and gain confidence in their coursework.

As a University Tutor, you will provide one-on-one academic support to students attending universities and colleges in Victoria. Sessions may take place in libraries, on campus in approved public spaces, or online. You will help students deepen their understanding of course material, prepare for exams, strengthen study strategies, and improve academic performance through personalized instruction.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (minimum requirement).
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more university-level subjects.
• Previous experience tutoring, teaching, or mentoring post-secondary students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt instruction to different learning styles.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• A professional, dependable, and student-centred approach.
• The ability to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check.

Nice To Haves

• A master's degree, PhD, or other advanced credentials are considered strong assets.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student's course requirements and learning goals.
• Help students understand challenging concepts and improve problem-solving skills.
• Support exam preparation, assignments, research projects, and academic writing.
