About The Position

This is an EXTERNAL VACANCY - OPEN TO GENERAL PUBLIC for the position of UNIVERSITY SECURITY OFFICER I, SR14, BU-03 at KAPIOLANI COMMUNITY COLLEGE in Honolulu, Oahu. The position involves patrolling the campus and other assigned areas to enforce laws, rules, and regulations for the protection and security of personnel and property, detecting and preventing violations, conducting investigations, preparing reports, and taking appropriate action. Applicants must be willing to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience in the enforcement of security laws, rules and regulations pertaining to the protection of personnel and property.
  • Possess a current, valid State of Hawaii Security Guard License at the time of appointment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Obtain valid First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificates or equivalent within six (6) months from the date of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Patrols the campus and other assigned areas to enforce laws, rules and regulations for the protection and security of personnel and property.
  • Detects and prevents attempts by persons to violate the law.
  • Conducts investigations of violations.
  • Prepares reports and takes appropriate action.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
